Ace Indian Tennis player Sania Mirza stormed into the semi-finals of the women’s singles event at the Asian Games 2010. The 20-year old Hyderabadi won the quarter-final match 6-2 6-3 and will now face third seed Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan in the semi-final tomorrow.

The 166th ranked Indian made light work of Thailand’s Tamarine Tanasugarn, ranked 58 in the world and seeded second here at the Games.
The gold medalist at the Commonwealth Games won his match 6-1 6-1 in a mere 39 minutes as Vaja Uzakov of Uzbekistan had no answers to the dominance of the second seeded Indian. Karan Rastogi also entered the last eight of the competition by winning his pre-quarter final encounter 6-0 6-4 over Ti Chen of Chinese Taipei. Both, Devvarman and Rastogi will also play their next matches tomorrow.
