NCAA Bracket 2012

t's time to adjust your NCAA Bracket 2012: Syracuse star center Fab Melo will miss the entire NCAA Tournament.

Syracuse announced on Tuesday -- just two days ahead of its Round of 64 game against UNC Asheville -- that its star sophomore would miss the entire tournament due to eligibility issues.

"Syracuse University sophomore men's basketball center Fab Melo did not travel with the team to Pittsburgh, and will not take part in the NCAA Tournament due to an eligibility issue," the school said in a statement. "Given University policy and federal student privacy laws, no further details can be provided at this time."

The loss of Melo could be disastrous for the Orange's national title hopes. He was the Orange's leading rebounder and shot blocker this past season. The Orange have struggled rebounding all season -- they rank 341st out of 345 Division-1 teams in defensive rebounding -- which could prove to be a big issue against a strong offensive rebounding team like Kansas State should the Wildcats advance past Southern Miss in the Round of 64.
